Dave Draper Bodybuilding Book—Latest Dave Draper Book

by Dave Draper
Foreword by Dan John

This is the second compilation of Dave’s most popular articles

Dave Draper writes:

Just when you think you’ve read all there is to read about lifting weights and building muscle, along comes another 80,000 words echoing in the corners and hallways of the musclehead gym: schemes and routines and hints and tips with the intent to inform, encourage and entertain.

The immediate message: See iron, lift iron.

The ultimate message: Train hard, eat right and be happy.

Don’t you just love simple? It’s one of the main reasons I chose the sport. No pitcher, no quarterback, no foul ball and no meddlesome referee. Just you and the iron and the rhythmic sounds of action, the grunts and groans and clanks and thuds.

You are your partner, your team, your biggest competitor and your best fan; muscle and might are your favorite goals, with a good pump and burn to accompany you along the way.

And none of it happens without moving a ton of weights, forging countless sets and reps, enduring a pile of aches and maybe some pain, and amassing a stack of stories to tell.

And speaking of stacks of stories to tell, pull up a bench and I’ll tell you a few.

“I open Iron in My Hands and get lost in the clanging of plates and a cloud of chalk. Whether you spent decades under the bar or just made a tentative acquaintance with it, Dave Draper’s powerful prose will make you reach for a gym bag. Wisdom, passion and great stories. It’s all there.”
~ Pavel Tsatsouline, author of Kettlebell Simple & Sinister

5 reviews for Dave Draper Iron in My Hands Book

  1. Mark

This is another great publication by an original iron master. Real trials and errors and realistic goal settings.

  2. Frank

In Mr Draper’s newest book, he takes his legendary strength of the weight pile, and uses it on crafting words onto paper. To say Draper is just an author, is like saying Picasso was just a painter. His 50+ years in the iron game make this book a priceless gem of old school knowledge, tips, stories and solutions for your journey into Bodybuilding.
    Highly Recommend!

  3. Eric Beard

Dave Draper provides pearls of wisdom, touches of philosophy and entertaining stories in this rich account of his training experience. Iron in My Hands as a quotable and enjoyable read. I recommend it to strength training enthusiasts and strength coaches alike.

  4. mike graham

Dave combines years of experience with extraordinary insight and a joyful appreciation of the combination of fun and hard work to make this a great read and a warehouse of information for anyone looking to get stronger in muscle and brain.

  5. Kate (verified owner)

Yet another joy to read…. Dan John nails it in the Intro- Dave is a poet.
