How to Fix Low Back Pain – Can I Train with Back Pain? – Exercises for Low Back Pain
In this lecture, Understanding Low Back Pain: Functional Anatomy Interventions and Prevention, Eric Beard covers the anatomy of the low back and discusses the causes of chronic back pain. While personal trainers and strength coaches are not licensed to address pain in their clients and athletes, chronic back pain is common and affects how we move. Eric uses this lecture to provide an overview of these complex topics.
“Imagine a year of chronic back pain. It’s had a massive negative impact on a person’s life. Imagine trying to work out to reduce cholesterol, to lose weight, to decrease the risk of a stroke and the back hurts so bad the person can’t even ride the bike or use the elliptical. We need to do something about this and we need to be prepared for it when individuals come to us with these special needs.” ~Eric Beard

Boris Bachmann (Squat Rx) –
I enjoyed this lecture immensely. Hips and the core are hot right now in the strength and conditioning industry with a lot of poor information making the rounds. Eric Beard covers the bases that someone in the S&C and fitness industries should learn, know, apply, and review. Though enjoyable, it is not light listening and plan on having your Anatomy Coloring Book handy if your functional anatomy is a bit rusty. Great stuff Eric – thank you!
