Warrior Combat Sports – Metabolic Interval Training – Conditioning for MMA – Conditioning for Combat Sports
In this talk, Mark Moynihan covers conditioning for athletes, specifically for MMA, but adaptable to other combat sports, wrestling or football. He covers energy systems for different sports, periodization and the SAID Principle for competitive athletes.
“Stress in the right amount simply means not too much and not too little. If there isn’t sufficient stress, there will be no adaptation, and if there is too much stress, you will cause injury or burnout.
“On the other hand, maybe your failure to improve is because each workout is too stressful, and therefore the body is failing to fully recover before the next workout and is instead just progressing into chronic injury. The basic rule about getting better at anything is to keep progressing the level of difficulty of the training without getting hurt or overtired.” ~Mark Moynihan
