“Anthony Renna has spent the last decade creating and curating content for fitness pros. Nobody does it better.”
~ Mike Boyle, StrengthCoach.com

Be Like the Best is a collection of 50 interviews with top North American fitness and physical therapy professionals in which Strength Coach Podcast creator Anthony Renna fleshed out the traits and habits that made them successful.

During the last 12 years of interviewing many strength coaches, fitness professionals, physical therapists and gym owners, Anthony Renna has accumulated a rolodex of “The Best of the Best” in the fitness profession. This book is a collection of interviews with some of those top successes.

You’ll learn how they evolved in their careers, what habits and traits they believe made them successful, their goal setting processes, how they get through hard times and even some books to read and people they recommend following.

After each interview, you’ll find a challenge or action step based on a takeaway from each interview. These are designed to encourage you to build the habits to Be Like the Best on your journey to dominating this profession.

As a fitness professional, you’re already making an impact in your clients, athletes and patients. This book will help you stand out in a crowded field and put you on the road to success.

“Anthony Renna has been the “voice of fitness” and continuing education for the last ten years. He’s not only one of MY trusted resources for professional development but a go-to resource for the entire Results Fitness team.”
~ Alwyn Cosgrove, Results Fitness University

Anthony Renna, Be Like the Best

From Anthony’s Introduction to Be Like the Best, consider this:

“It’s said that a wise person learns from his mistakes. A wiser one learns from others’ mistakes. But the wisest person of all learns from others’ successes.” John C. Maxwell

In today’s “Age of Information,” it’s so easy to be inundated with shortcuts, tricks and schemes to “make it.” It’s simple to start following the way one person does things and then get sidetracked and change course when we see what others are doing. We get information overload and then we get paralyzed. It’s called “paralysis by analysis” and it stops us from taking action.

This book is a collection of interviews with some of the top fitness professionals in the world. I picked a mix of people from different sections of the profession—personal trainers, physical therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, gym owners, chiropractors, entrepreneurs, professors and business coaches—to gain different perspectives on the success journey.

During the last 12 years of interviewing hundreds of strength coaches, fitness professionals, physical therapists and gym owners as the founder and host of The Strength Coach Podcast as well as Strength Coach TV, I have accumulated a rolodex of “The Best of the Best” in the fitness profession.

I picked the people in this book that I not only consider to be masters of their craft, but those who are accessible. These are people who have given endless hours to not only help their clients and patients, but to other professionals they encounter at conferences, workshops, through social media and podcasts.

I love the quote, “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” I have a personal relationship with every person I interviewed in this book and I can tell you it’s a group of the most caring people you’ve ever met. These are professionals who really care about making an impact in the world and in their profession.

You’ll learn how they evolved in their careers, what habits and traits they believe made them successful, their goal setting processes, how they get through hard times and even some books to read and people they recommend following.

Anthony’s Be Like the Best Workbook, the companion book, is available on Amazon.

“As someone who has to make the difficult decisions about who to put on the PB Summit tour and who to take off, I believe Anthony has done a great job picking a diverse, world-class group of successful people to include in this book. I have known and worked with many of them first hand and have seen the incredible impact they have made in the fitness profession. Success really does leave clues and there are many clues in this book to put into action.”

“Anthony Renna is the quintessential curator of continuing education for the fitness and sports performance professional. Anthony has an uncanny knack for identifying the industry’s best, often before they are on anyone else’s radar. In his interviews, he asks the questions that we would ask (plus some ridiculously insightful ones we probably never would have thought of), thereby “mining the gold” that is their insights. Everything is delivered in a way that makes information accessible and applicable to the rest of us.”
~ Geralyn Coopersmith, Coopersmith Consulting

Anthony Renna

Anthony Renna

Anthony Renna has been a personal trainer since 2004, first working with Equinox, then on his own at different facilities before opening his own gym, Five Iron Fitness, in 2008.

He sold Five Iron in 2016 so he could focus on his true passion of providing educational resources for fitness professionals to excel in the profession. His mission is to help them find success and make an impact in the world by sharing all he has learned from the best of the best.

As the founder and host of both the Strength Coach Podcast and Strength Coach TV, he has interviewed hundreds of strength coaches, fitness professionals, physical therapists and gym owners. He applies what he learned by helping fitness professionals in his personal coaching and accountability group, which you can learn about at CONTINUEfit.com/Propel.

Anthony still trains clients a few hours a week and is a partner with Michael Boyle in StrengthCoach.com and BodyByBoyleOnline.com.

“When I think of strength education leaders, Anthony Renna leaps to the top of the short list of people both willing and having a breadth of skills to guide today’s trainers in their work. For the past 10 years, we’ve watched as he consistently produced a wealth of quality material, with an underlying lesson of ‘Go for it!’ being perhaps the most important lesson of all.”
